Mr Clifton has completed both TKR on me. With out any problems he has a confidence that shines in his work, I can say this as I was awake during both my procedures. Mr Rupert Clifton is an exceptional surgeon, he is calm, reassuring and makes time to answer your concerns and explains truthfully what you should expect from your surgery. This really make the whole decision making easier. I feel so very lucky to have been referred to Mr Cliftons care and you could not find a better knee surgeon anywhere. The extra bonus is Mr Cliftons secretary is kind and makes sure all messages are past on in a timely fashion. My partial knee replacement, was explained in simple terms. Any questions I raised were answered fully. Mr Clifton was always available when needed and reacted very promptly when it was thought I had a blood clot. All has gone extremely well.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Mr Clifton quickly identified the cause of my knee pain as a bucket meniscus tear and confirmed with an MRI scan. He was very prompt at scheduling the surgery and went through the procedure giving me all the information I needed around the procedure itself, his expectations, rehabilitation and aftercare. Surgery was a complete success and has healed very quickly with very little scarring and I am back to being 100%. He was friendly and helpful throughout the entire process and provided thorough documentation to follow up any appointments I had. I would recommend him to anyone needing knee treatment.

I attended my first consultation with Mr Clifton in January 2022. The booking process was simple, friendly and speedy. Mr Clifton listened to my account attentively and was friendly and polite. After examination we agreed on a course of treatment to include surgery. He explained the various stages of care. This was supported in the following days by written communication. My surgery took place a couple of weeks later and the care I received from the whole team at the Fitzwilliam Hospital was outstanding. Six weeks post operative I had a further consultation where I was able to talk to Mr Clifton about the surgery and what I could expect for the future. I saw Mr Clifton in September 2021 for right knee (medial meniscal) surgery having been limping in pain, all day every day, for the previous four months. I have just seen him again in March 2022 and been discharged. I am hugely pleased and thankful to him to be able to say that I have been pain free since the surgery, back to hill walking and gym sessions; a completely successful operation.

I had "Visionaire Total Knee Replacement" in June 2021 carried out by Mr. Clifton at the Fitzwilliam Hospital, Peterborough. From the initial consultation to the final post-operation in January 2022 Mr. Clifton showed a caring and kind nature and genuine care to me. The whole operation was a total success and has given me a new "lease of life". I was back to walking without any aid within 6 weeks !!. At my initial consultation Mr Clifton fully explained what would be involved in my proposed total knee replacement. He explained any potential risks (which were minimal), the benefits, and the need for me to subsequently do my part with ongoing physiotherapy. I followed his advice to the letter, and now have a fully functioning knee, which has allowed me to return to the activities which previously I was unable to do. I have now walked five miles without any problems (previously 50M was difficult), and I am back to my motorcycling! My only suggestion is in regard to exactly what is covered in the privately funded package for this procedure - I was not aware, for example, that the follow up physiotherapy sessions were included, until it became obvious no payments were being requested.

Right from the first time I met Mr Clifton I was impressed. Following an X-ray which showed my problem he laid out the course of treatments could follow and was more than happy to answer any questions I had. We discussed my condition and agreed on a course of action that involved surgery for a partial replacement of my knee. The operation was carried out at a time that suited me. Following on from my Op I was given some exercises to follow which I dutifully did. As the staff explained you have to get mobile as soon as possible to help get as much flexibility as is possible. So although there is pain initially, in the long run the mixture of following the exercises, resting with it up and icing the knee have worked for me. Six months down the line I have a scar which you can hardly see and great flexibility in the knee. If you can after the initial exercises start swimming cycling and using a cross trainer. All are good exercises for knees without the strain.

Excellent manner, very professional but at the same time he seemed friendly and approachable. At initial examination fully explained what was wrong with my knee and what needed to be done. Pre op put me at my ease. The operation appears to have been a complete success and the scar is very neat. I had both me knees replaced by Mr Clifton, and throughout the process, had 100% confidence in his expertise, knowledge are customer care. I think the fact that I had both knees replaced within 2 years, shows that I totally trusted him, and after the first operation, was happy to return and have my other one done! Mr Clifton came highly reccomend, all the appointments at stamford and Peterbourgh ran to time, staff were friendly and curtious. In the past six months Mr Clifton has operated on me to give me two total knee replacements. As someone with a chronic systemic illness who had never before been admitted to hospital I was very worried about the operation and the recovery process. Mr Clifton patiently dealt with all my anxieties and clearly explained in layman's terms the details of the operation. The care and professionalism he showed cannot be faulted. Conscious, professional takes time to explain the procedure and put the patient completely at ease. Post operative I was fully informed of how the procedure went and what to expect in the way of pain and discomfort. In my case I did not suffer much pain, this I put down the skill of the surgeon. The discomfort was well managed, and I found the experience to far less daunting than I expected, again I put this down the the surgeon and his team. My last consultation was a pleasant and informative experience. I have total confidence in Mr Rupert Clifton. I have not had much experience of hospitals and surgery but if they are all like this why worry? I can see no way the service can be improved.

Mr Rupert Clifton puts you at ease the minute you walk into his office. When it came to having my knee op I was a little scared as I don't like hospitals but should I have to have my other knee sorted then Mr Clifton will be my choice, it was a nice experience and I think that comes from not only Mr Clifton but also his staff.
